I need a website
A new site, a rebuild, or an emergency. I build sites that load fast, cannot be hacked through a plugin, and belong to you outright. If your site is down or defaced right now, there is a same-day lane.
I'm Greg Drake, a web developer in Petaluma. I build secure, compliant, always-current websites and keep them that way: monitored, updated, and adapted as the technology around them changes, with AI tools watching alongside me. A website used to sit untouched until something broke. At today's pace, set-and-forget is a risk your data, your reputation, and your customers cannot afford.
Customers, Google, and AI tools form an opinion of your business from many places at once. Most owners only ever look at one of them.
I work on the whole picture. That is what makes the work stick.
Your website and your domain name. The one part of the internet where you set the rules, and the first thing I make sure is actually yours.
Your Google Business Profile, social pages, and directory listings. Free real estate that most businesses leave half empty or quietly wrong.
Reviews, articles, and what ChatGPT or Google's AI says when someone asks about you. You cannot edit this directly, but you can influence what it draws from.
Your email, your tools, your backups, the repetitive work that eats your week. The part AI can genuinely help with when it is set up carefully.
A new site, a rebuild, or an emergency. I build sites that load fast, cannot be hacked through a plugin, and belong to you outright. If your site is down or defaced right now, there is a same-day lane.
Showing up when people search Google, and showing up when they ask an AI for a recommendation. I measure where you stand today, then fix what keeps you out of the answer.
AI that drafts the proposal, summarizes the inbox, and watches the deadline, with a human checking anything that matters. Plus plain old tech cleanup and honest consulting when you need a second opinion.
Sites age. Rules change. I keep client sites updated, measured, and backed up, month to month, no contract. A subscription, not a hostage situation.
Not sure which one you are? That is normal. Start with the free baseline reading, or email me what is bothering you and I will point you at the right one, even if the answer is that you do not need me.
Any AI tool you like. Free versions count.
You are named: good, now protect it. A competitor is named: that is the gap, and it is fixable. Nobody local is named: the seat is open, and early movers have the best claim on it. The result is not a verdict. It is a signal.
Want the longer version? The full self-check is free and takes five minutes.
One Sonoma County business. Same content, new foundation. Measured with free public tools, Google's own speed test among them, June 5 and July 6, 2026. Every number below is one you can re-run yourself.
Google's speed score. The range covers five separate test runs. Anything above 90 is faster than most of the web.
Time until the main content appears. Past about three seconds, people start leaving.
Security instructions the site sends every browser. Free to check, graded A through F. Most small sites send none.
Page weight. Five times lighter, which is most of why it feels instant on a phone.
Every engagement starts with instruments, not opinions. You see the same numbers I see, each one dated and explained in a sentence.
A fixed written quote for the one move the evidence supports. No hourly meter. No bundle padding. Every proposal includes what I recommend you not buy.
I build it, measure it again in front of you, and hand you the keys. You own the site, the domain, and every account. Nothing is held hostage.
The answer is not always to buy more. If a smaller fix is enough, I will show you why. If there is nothing worth fixing, I will tell you that too.
I started on a TRS-80, spent a career running businesses on both sides of the technology, and now spend my days making AI do useful work for regular businesses. I live in Petaluma and work with businesses across Sonoma County and the North Bay, in person or over a screen share.
One person, deliberately. You talk to the person doing the work, every time.
The case studies on the evidence page stay anonymous on purpose; that discretion is part of what clients hire. These three are named with permission. Each site is live, so judge the work the way your customers would: open it on your phone.
A complete online home for a Petaluma real estate broker: his track record, his client reviews, and the properties he has sold, on one fast page that search engines and AI tools can read cleanly.
A dedicated site for ranch and rural property across Sonoma and Marin counties, built to load fast on a phone in the field and to state clearly, in code and in plain language, who the practice is and what it sells.
A launch site for a licensed and insured home watch and concierge service in Central Oregon: what they do, who runs it, and how to reach them. Proof that the work travels; most of it happened over a screen share.
You do not need to know which service to ask for. Tell me what you are trying to improve, protect, build, or automate. The free baseline reading is the easiest first step: you send your web address, I send back five dated measurements of how your site is doing, each explained in one sentence.
